EnergyMap Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 5, 2026 · Applies to EnergyMap for Windows (Microsoft Store) and its web version.
1. Who we are
EnergyMap is an energy-based day planner developed by Hani Muhsen (“we”, “us”). For any privacy question, contact haymohsen@gmail.com.
2. Information the app stores
To work, EnergyMap saves the following locally on your device, inside the app’s private storage:
- Tasks you enter (titles, notes, durations, deadlines, priority) and the plan the app creates for them.
- Your energy map (the times of your Peak, Steady and Low phases) and your settings.
- Busy times you add yourself or import from a calendar file (.ics) you choose.
- Optional energy check-ins (a 1–5 rating and the time you gave it).
This information never leaves your device through EnergyMap. We have no server that receives it and we cannot see it.
3. Information we collect
None. EnergyMap contains no analytics, crash-reporting, advertising or tracking code and makes no network requests with your data. The app only downloads its own program files (for installation and updates).
4. Files you choose to open or save
When you export your plan (.ics), save a backup (.json), import a calendar file or restore a backup, EnergyMap reads or writes only the file you pick, at the location you pick. What you do with those files afterwards (for example, importing them into Google Calendar or Outlook) is governed by the privacy policy of that service.
5. Notifications
If you turn on reminders, EnergyMap asks Windows for permission to show notifications. Reminders are created on your device; no notification service of ours is involved.
6. Microsoft Store
If you install EnergyMap from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft processes purchase, licensing and download information under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. We may receive aggregated, non-identifying sales and installation statistics from Microsoft Partner Center.
7. Data retention and deletion
Your data stays on your device until you delete it. You can remove individual items in the app, use Settings › Reset everything, or uninstall the app, which removes its storage from your device. EnergyMap also keeps up to seven daily automatic snapshots on your device so you can recover from mistakes; these are deleted when you uninstall the app.
8. Children
EnergyMap is a general productivity tool and is not directed at children. Because we collect no personal information, we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.
9. Security
Your data is protected by your device and your Windows account. We recommend keeping your own backups (Settings › Save backup) in a safe place.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above. Material changes will be noted in the app’s Store listing.
